First Priority is the greater number of Won Matches. |
Second Priority is the higher ratio of Games Won to Games Played expressed as a percentage. (This ratio is equivalent to the row total divided by the sum of the row total and column total). Where two or more players have a zero row total, a lower column total prevails. |
Third Priority is the Winner of the match between two players having equal ratios of Games Won to Games Played. |
If there is still no resolution, then the original order is maintained. |
Matches Not Played by the End of the Period |
The score in unplayed matches is recorded as either 5-0 or 0-0 dependent upon the effort made to play the match, which judgement is made on the information available to the League Organisers and is at their discretion. Such scores are recorded at reduced font size. 5-0 is regarded as a win. |
When allocating one or other of these assigned scores, the League Organiser may take into account the number of matches actually played by each player in the division concerned. |
When applying the Priorities above, these assigned scores have their face values in the rows, but count as having different values as Games Against in the columns as follows : (i) In 0-0, 0 counts as 9 (ii) In 5-0, 0 as 6 and 5 as 12. |
No Show, Retirements and Abandoned Matches |
If a player fails to show at an agreed time without notification, the opponent should explain the circumstances to the League Organiser as indicated on the appropriate notice. The opponent may be awarded a 5-0dft. |
Where a match has started and cannot be completed, the actual score is shown in normal font size with a reduced suffix of abd after both players scores, or ret after the score of a player who retires for any reason. |
When applying the Priorities, abandoned match scores have their face value with no winner, whilst the opponent of a retired player is allocated a Win and sufficient games or points to complete the set in the winners favour. |
