Club Box League Rules |
|
® All matches are ONE ADVANTAGE SET only, with a TIE-BREAK being played if the score reaches 6-6, and must be played at the Club. |
® All competitors play each of the other three players in their division (box) within the period shown. Please try to play your matches as early in the period as possible to avoid court availability problems towards the end of each period. |
® ALL PERIODS END at 5.00pm on the last day, with the new divisions being arranged on the Saturday evening ready for the next period to start on the following Monday. |
® EITHER PLAYER may take the initiative to arrange each match, but it is ultimately the responsibility of : 1st in the box to arrange with 4th, 2nd with 1st, 3rd with 1st and 2nd, and 4th with 2nd and 3rd. |
® If you try to arrange a match with someone in your division who is unwilling or unable to play, please inform Jim Harle of the details, as they usually make a difference when determining the score to allocate to those matches which are not played within the time limits. |
® In the lower divisions where competitors are unsure of what to do, where to stand, or how to score, an adult or adults (neutral if possible) may stand at a net post and direct and assist as necessary. Obviously, such assistance must be completely impartial, and be helpful and encouraging to both players. |
® Immediately after finishing a match, the score should be written in the correct places in the box on the sheet displayed on the notice board. The number of games won by a player is written at the intersection of the player’s ROW and his/her opponent’s COLUMN. If this is done correctly, the two numbers entered for a match will be positioned as mirror images in the blanked diagonal of the box. Tie-break scores should be shown in brackets. |
® Please consult the displayed Timetable for date and administrative details. |
® ANY QUERIES or observations, or notification if anyone fails to appear for an arranged match, should be addressed to Jim Harle. |
