Restringing Facility

Summerway has invested in a restringing facility which is operated by the coaches. Certain other services are also offered, such as the replacement of racket grips. The prices charged compare favourably with the market and there is a reasonable choice of string and grip.

All the strings kept in stock are of good quality, having varying characteristics which make them suitable for a range of styles of play. The four strings listed below give an idea of the choice available in ascending order of cost.

Duras. A durable string for demanding players. Ideal for hard courts. Supplied in White-Orange of 1.40mm gauge. Recommended tension range is 50-65lbs.

Dynamic. The ultimate all round string, suitable for all players and all surfaces. There is a choice between Gold of 1.30mm gauge and White of 1.35mm gauge. The recommended tension for both strings is 60-65lbs.

Performa. A string of super elasticity for players who require extra control and accuracy. Available in Gold and with a gauge of 1.35mm. The recommended tension range is 50-60lbs.

Avante. A lively, sharp and responsive string. For the tournament player. It is available in Gold and 1.35mm gauge. Recommended tension range is 50-60lbs.

Other strings which may be available are the moderately priced Synthetic Softy which is described as having “super elasticity, super feel, super price! The latest in string technology.” and three strings at the top end of the price range. These are Gut Power (A durable, soft feel multifilament. Great for coaches who play all day), Tour Edition 33 (Top grade polyester, ideal for both clay and hard courts. The Pro’s choice) and Maxi-Gut (Multifilament construction with unique playing features). The last named comes at some cost!
